First Arboretum Trip of the Spring

I was thrilled to see that bloodroot has sprouted again in the Arboretum -- and just where I saw it last spring! Posted by Picasa

This was my first photographic journey through the Cornell Arboretum this spring. Posted by Picasa

Of all the geese I've seen, this is the first time I've seen their offspring -- here at Grossman Pond. Posted by Picasa

Trees are near full bloom all over campus. These are located along the pedestrian walk leading up to the clocktower. Posted by Picasa

The Birds

This evening I took several photographs on my way to Collegetown. I paid special attention to birds. This bird, which is not a robin, I have never seen before. Posted by Picasa

Here's a similar bird with its mate. They were chirping and fighting with each other just before I snapped this photo. Posted by Picasa

This sparrow was perched peacefully in a nearby tree. Posted by Picasa

Much further along in my walk, I spotted another, possibly a different species of sparrow. Posted by Picasa

I found it interesting that the flowers in this cluster next to WSH were each a slightly different color. Posted by Picasa

Spring is Back in Ithaca

Jing and I took a walk through Mundy Wildflower Garden, the Herb Garden and past Hemlock Gorge by Beebe Lake. Here are some pictures.
